GRASP Annual Golf Tournament: Putts for Pets

On Tuesday, September 20th, our founding partner, Zach Harrington co-hosted the annual golf tournament with the GRASP (Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets) organization at the Greystone Country Club.

The Rise Advisors team happily sponsored and participated in the event, along with 16 other teams. Though our golf skills may be lacking, we were able to raise money for a great cause and have fun while doing it.

All in all, we were able to help raise more than seven thousand dollars for the organization. To say that this money will go a long way for GRASP is an understatement. Veterinary bills alone cost anywhere from $9,000 to $10,000 per month. Adoption fees can only go so far, being able to cover cents on the dollar of the costs to care for these animals. If not for the generous support of all those who gave in this tournament, GRASP could not continue to do what it does best: support stray pets.

To best understand the impact of this event, it is better to understand the journey of GRASP. Denyse Clark, a longtime board member, states “Who is GRASP? No, not what is our mission, but who are the people that make up GRASP? Quite simply, dedicated volunteers. We are not a human society; we do not receive any public funding. No one in our organization is paid. We all have families, friends, jobs, our own animals, and commitments. But somehow, we fit in all that is needed to run an organization. It is a labor of love, of course, but it is a large sacrifice that we may every day to serve the animals in our community. Every volunteer, follower, or supporter is needed for us to succeed”. In the last five years GRASP has saved over 200 dogs and over 2000 cats, providing them with the care they need and finding them loving home to enjoy the life they deserve.

GRASP is truly an amazing organization. If you would like to learn more or donate, please follow this link: https://www.graspinc.org/our-mission.

We certainly had a wonderful time hitting the links and putting for pets!

The Rise Advisor team is always looking for the best ways to support our community, both in and outside of the office!
